Help with the cabin

Cleaning

Before you arrive, after you leave, or regularly every other week.

End-of-stay clean

Between guests, at the end of the season and after builders.

Caretaker

Checks after storms and cold spells, snow clearing, roof snow and small repairs.

Cleaning booked automatically

When the cabin is rented out, cleaning between guests books itself.

No chasing payments

Suppliers are paid in the app. No reminders, no bank transfers.

Receipts in the shared kitty

Everything you order goes straight into the shared kitty and is split fairly.

Easy to find a replacement

If your usual cleaner is busy, you can see who else delivers in the area.

What shall we do?

For people renting the cabin. The cabin is already ready, so guests get everything else in one place. They don't need an account or an app: the host sends a link, and guests book directly.

Food

Restaurants, table bookings, takeaway, delivery to the cabin and a ready meal on arrival.

Experiences

Guides, ski school, activities, equipment rental and lift passes.

Local tips

Trips for every season, with the host's own recommendations.

Practical

Cabin guide with Wi-Fi and house rules, transport from Oslo Airport and taxis.

Getting here from Oslo Airport

Most international visitors fly into Oslo Airport (OSL), about 50 km north of Oslo. The mountain resorts are roughly 2 to 4 hours away, depending on where you're staying.

By train

Trains run straight from the airport towards Lillehammer, for Hafjell and Kvitfjell. For Geilo, take the airport train to Oslo Central Station and change to the Bergen Line. Book a taxi from the station to the cabin.

By car

Pick up a rental car at the airport. Hafjell is about 2 hours away, Trysil about 2.5 hours, and Hemsedal and Geilo about 3 to 3.5 hours. Mountain roads can close in bad weather.

Shuttle or private driver

Some resorts have airport buses in season. For the easiest trip, book a private driver who meets you at arrivals and takes you to the door.

Travel times are approximate and vary with season, weather and connections.

Premium

For guests who want everything taken care of: a driver from Oslo Airport, a private ski instructor, a chef, and a local concierge who puts the whole stay together.

Calendar and shared kitty

Who has the cabin when, and who owes what. Settled in the app instead of the family group chat.

The cabin's main calendar

Everyone puts in requests, and periods get approved. Holidays like Easter take turns on a rotation, so it's fair over time. The calendar is shared as a subscription link to Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar, and when you rent out, it syncs with Airbnb, Booking.com and Finn.no.

The shared kitty

Power, snow clearing and everything ordered in the app is split automatically between the owners. The receipts are all there, and everyone can see what they owe.

Your cabin's contracts

Power, internet, alarm, insurance and snow clearing. We tell you when you're paying too much, and make it easy to switch.

  1. Enter it yourself

Provider, price, renewal date and fixed term.

  2. Upload an invoice

Take a photo or upload a PDF, and we read the contract details for you.

  3. Forward invoices

Your cabin gets its own email address. Forward invoices there to keep everything up to date.

You get a reminder before a contract renews and when a fixed term ends, plus a yearly review of all your contracts.

What could the empty weeks earn?

Most cabins stand empty for much of the year. See what renting out a few weeks could bring in.

Through the platform: listing on Airbnb, Finn.no and Booking.com, a calendar that syncs automatically, messaging with guests, cleaning between guests that books itself, and a digital cabin guide for your guests.

Become a supplier

Questions and answers

What does it cost?

The app is free for cabin owners. When you order something, you pay a small service fee, and the supplier pays a low commission. If you rent out, the platform fee is 5 % of the rental income. If you switch a contract through us, the provider may pay us for it, and this is always clearly marked.

Do guests need to download the app?

No. Guests open a link from their host and can see the cabin guide and local tips, and book food and experiences directly, without an account.

How do I log in?

Without a password: with Vipps, Apple or a code sent by email.

Do we have to rent out the cabin?

No. Most people use cabinguide to get the cabin ready, for the calendar and for the shared kitty. Renting is optional, and you can switch it on and off week by week.

What is cabinguide's role?

Cabinguide is the platform that connects cabin owners, guests and local suppliers. Agreements are made directly between the parties, and payment goes to whoever provides the service. Cabinguide is not a party to the rental or the services.

Who is behind it?

Cabinguide is developed by Fifth Generation AS, owned by cabin owners who have long wished a service like this existed.
